About

The Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Rice is pleased to launch the Rice Feminist Forum, an online space where feminists engage urgent public concerns.

This forum is being established at a time when debate has intensified over issues impacting women’s lives and the politics of sexuality and gender. Now more than ever feminist voices are needed to address them. Several times a semester, we will post a prompt for a different topic and ask for contributions from Center faculty affiliates, graduate certificate students, and Advisory Board members.

We will post all contributions that our moderator deems on topic and appropriate for our audience. Although contributions can, of course, take up issues from previous posts, and can be informal in tone, they should be sustained engagements with the topic rather than short comments on earlier material. They should be 400-800 words in length. Feel free to include a public domain image that could accompany your essay.

Information about our current topic, and how to submit a piece, can be found on the Submissions page.

Please send submissions and suggestions for future topics to feministforum@rice.edu.
